The 6 Human Needs

OK...you probably think you have more than 6 right? Well all your needs have a core common ground, so whatever you want or think you need, will be underpinned by a particular human need, common to us all!

I've listed and provided simple explanations of the 6 human needs as I know them. I do hope they hit the mark with you and create a 'lightbulb' moment that will light up your life!

Certainty
Feeling sure about your life and having a level of security that makes you feel comfortable.  It can be repetition and routine that is enjoyed, and schedules that are familiar. It can be quite boring for some people to live in certainty all the time - and also challenging for others - especially where one partner enjoys some uncertainty and the other maintains a 'boxed' life. Here, values may need to be assessed to ascertain the best way forward!

Uncertainty/Variety
Having a requirement for risks in your life.... Be it super sports, enjoying a freelance career, surprises, holidays in different countries...are elements that create excitement and fun, and a little (or a lot) of what you fancy, might just take you outside the 'normal' box! It's good to live outside the box sometimes, so we can really experience life in all its exhilarating glory!

Significance
Being praised and thanked for your work, having a stage presence, entertaining, creating events, and wanting more from life than a backstage view, creates a feeling of pride and worthiness. The ego can live here too - and when significance becomes the main human need, our other needs and indeed others we know, may be challenged by the competition!

Love and Connection
A need to have friends, lovers, solid partnerships, strong family connections, collaborative co-workers and real-life relationships with people of similar values, leads people to search with their hearts not their heads! Having love and connections in our lives helps us to find solutions to our challenges as well as enjoying the fun times. The common denominator is people. Where an individual is a loner, they may find their love and connection with pets and animals.....whilst some may indulge in liaisons that are periodic! We all need love to survive and thrive and we will find it to suit our levels of self-esteem and confidence.

Growth
When life no longer provides you with everything you want, what do you do? Some people begin searching for more! Ever heard someone saying; "Is this all there is to life?" This is someone who wants more and is on the precipice of discovering that life does indeed have much more to it - by 'Growing' into the next level up - and learning new subjects, becoming philosophical or spiritual.Growth brings people together and enables sharing of interests and information between groups. Once Growth is sought, the next level is swiftly found....

Contribution
It has been understood that the greater our knowledge of ourselves and of life, the more we are attracted to contribution. This includes voluntary work, helping others, working in caring environments and becoming the 'shoulder' to cry on for many! To contribute to another's life is a fulfilling experience and this feeling cannot be bought! It is for our highest good, that we contribute a part of our life to a worthy 'cause' and those who reach this level of human need, stay at this level! Those who reject help as 'charity' are lacking in one or more of the other human needs, as to accept help is to reject the ego and accept love!

I hope my (own) explanation of the 6 human needs has found a place in your heart that says "AHA - YES!" and serves you to discover more about yourself and your life. I am a living product of self discovery and though it has always brought its challenging moments, I have enjoyed my journey thus far, and continue to experience a joyful ride into the hills of life - bumpy and challenging as they are!!!

Perhaps you will allow me to guide YOU with your challenges. Write to me personally, leave a comment or come and find me elsewhere on the worldwide web! If I can help, I surely will!

My very best wishes for the best in your life.

Follow Your Dreams - They Could Come TRUE!

When you have a dream, a vision of how you'd like life to be, sometimes you think that's all it can be!

Well, I've got news for you........ That dream, that vision, could well come true!

By using a set of actions that will create small shifts, you really could be living the life you dream of, in real life!

Want to know more?

It's a simple concept - and involves total belief and trust!

Do you have your dream in mind?

What is it?

Picture the scene, smell the air within your scene and describe what you have just conjured up, at the front of a new journal, NOW.

Now, Read your words, is there anything you can add to make it more real?

WHEN would you like this to become your life? NOW?

Just add these words to the start of your 'dream':

I am now living my ultimate dream. YES, It's come true. I am/have.............(the description of your dream follows on here)

You see, the power of NOW, is incredible. If you always 'wish' for something, you will always wish for it, unless you make it happen!

Taking the feeling of 'having' and 'living' your dream, makes it seem more real and therefore the excitement of experiencing it NOW, will fill your body and mind with an energy that will begin to attract what you wish for.

Now, don't go thinking you can wish for extra arms or legs and they will start to grow, let's be a little more realistic - at least to start with! If other people have what you wish for, then it's entirely possible for you to have it too! Dreams normally consist of a lifestyle change, like being better off financially or having THAT car! Maybe a beautiful relationship, having a family, or even a house in an idyllic location. What's your dream?

So, you have your dream written in detail, in your journal and it excites you. It's written as if you have it now, and it's something you know you could have. so then what?

Start a vision board. This simply consists of a board of some sort, (could be an empty wall!) some sticky tape, glue or tacks. Your dream will become your vision, visible every day!

What would your whole life look and feel like, in your dream? Can you find images that represent your dream in magazines or papers. Coloured images, not black and white, as life is colourful, so get some catalogues or travel mags. Lifestyle magazines or a printout from something on the web. Then cut out those images that look like the kind of life you wish for.

Stick them, pin them or paste them on the area you have decided will hold your vision. Do you get it? This area in your home is 'holding your vision', so you can live it daily and remember the excitement that you felt by bringing your dream 'to life!'

Are you excited by what you have created so far? Are you intrigued?
In my next post, I will add some additional steps that will create further shifts in your mind.

AND, I know this process works, as I have done it myself. I will share some of my successes with you to inspire you.

Thank you for reading this, and for adding me to your favourites.

Huge virtual hugs,
Andrea

In Loving Memory of my Beautiful Grandma Rose

Think of a Rose, and what do you see?
Many pretty petals,
All soft as silk
And blessedly vibrant in colour.

Can you smell her wonderful scent?
Can you touch her silky softness?
Can you hear her sway in the breeze?
What colour is YOUR Rose?

Our senses and our memories,
Store many wonderful gifts.
Reminders of beauty and happiness.
And of lazy, hazy days gone by.

Our Rose is stored very carefully in our memories.
She stays there for when we need her.
Her memory makes us smile,
As her hand as soft as silky petals, gently touches ours.

Take those precious memories of your Rose,
And share them with others, everywhere you go.
In the Garden of Love, keep her alive, and vibrant,
And her many fragranced petals fresh.

In all our gardens, the Rose obeys the seasons.
Her life depends on change, sunshine, rain and love.
Loving the roots of the rose is to love the Rosebud that dies,
And this great love feeds and nurtures our hearts and minds.

Our pretty, vibrant Rose isn’t gone,
She’s there, when you want her, in our hearts and minds.
Bless her.

Release Tension and Relax

Did you know.................................?

How many times have you heard this question?
Did you switch off?
Did you listen half-heartedly?
Did you listen, and actually take the advice/info on board?

Well, I listen to what people have to say. ALL of it!
I must know what they want me to know.
It may well answer my own question!
Sometimes our unconcious mind has a question.......for a valid reason that we might be unaware of..........it sends it out, and then someone comes over and starts talking to us.........for instance:

"Did you know that you can get a series of mental awakening messages online?"
.......Hmmmmmm, I was only asking myself that question the other day!

See what I mean?

Well, for those people out there who have wanted to find a truly inspiring website to release their daily tensions, relax their minds and bodies and grow as a person, here might well be the answer to your question.........

http://www.relax7.com/

Quite simple really. I mean it....this particular website is a very simple and powerful means of getting the things you want most from your day. Peace, contentment, love, energy, they can all be yours, and more.

Of course there are other ways and means, aren't there? And yet you have been directed here........for a very good reason, which by the way, you may not be aware of.

Trust your unconcious mind to deliver what's good for you. Carefully listen to the voice in your head that tells you to drive this way today - it could mean you avoid an accident, or that you get to your destination quicker!

Go check out this peaceful website.....I know you'll be thankful that you did.

I'll have another blog in this series very soon, charting my own personal development recommendations, as I discover their worth. It's been a long journey already, and it seems that I've only just begun, such is the wealth of information available!

Thank you for visiting.
May your life prosper, through your unconcious actions.
